Dear Friends,
Employer vs. Individual mandate?
The debate between which solution is better rages on.
But believe it or not, the differences are not where you might think.
Most agree that the cost of providing health services is getting way out of hand. Most agree there should be some type of mandate.
And believe it or not, 47 million uninsured is a small part of a much larger problem. The big talk behind closed doors is not the uninsured, or the under insured.
It's the economy!
Right now, the healthcare system in the U.S. accounts for 1/6 of our entire economy. If things continue at there current rate, Many analysts say it will become 1/3 of our economy within 10 years.
Both sides agree that if we don't control cost and get everyone involved in the system, our current system will crush our economy!
Both sides also agree that discrimination based on pre-existing conditions needs to be done away with.
So where are the differences?
- Far left Democrats want to do away with health insurance companies entirely in favor of a single payor system. This is not likely to happen, as there is just too much resistance to such, including resistance from President Obama.
- Left Center Democrats by in large support an employer mandate with a public option. The argument here is that a public option will keep the insurance companies honest. Those employers who do not offer health insurance will have to pay up to 8% into the public option.
- Right Center Republicans want an individual mandate with financial assistance given to those who can not afford it. Local cooperatives have also been suggested so individuals can group together to control cost while keeping things in the private sector.
- Far right Republicans want to see little change with insurance companies, in favor of more client and provider accountability. The argument here is there is simply not enough money to subsidize anything in this recession. Like the far left, this is not likely to happen as there is simply too much public pressure to change the system.
So where does this leave us?
Most following the progress on healthcare reform feel their will be some compromise between between the Left Center and Right Center approaches.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

| Persistence and Determination |
|
I just couldn't resist talking about the quote a friend of mine recently sent me.
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent"
I can't tell you how many agents are always looking for the next greatest thing.
Recently, I've even been bombarded with dozens of requests to sign up for 2 Multi Level Marketing systems. One is for some new "Super Cell Phone" that's going to revolutionize mobile calling. The other is for a new form of email where you can send videos to one another easily via email.
Well, to all those licensed insurance agents looking for the next greatest thing, you're already in it.
Have we forgotten how much you can earn helping people with their insurance needs?
Have we forgotten how much our service is needed, and how much demand there is?
Have we forgotten that running a successful agency is more profitable than just about any other business I can think of?
So why do so many continue looking for the Holy Grail of businesses? (You know, the one that promises you'll be making Ten Million dollars a year inside of six months... yeah right!)
My guess is lack of focus and persistency. Many are either short sighted or dare I say Lazy.
But if those who are willing could just focus, and listen to those who have already made it, I can virtually guarantee success beyond your wildest dreams.
Sincerely,
Dorin Adika
Executive Vice President

| International Medical is Strong |
|
Believe it or not, International Travel Medical sales are on the rise.
How so?
Despite a poor economy, which is affecting travel for pleasure negatively, business travel is up.
More and more businesses are looking overseas for help with labor.
Now combine that with the increase awareness of international travel medical.
Business people more than any other group realize they cannot afford to be put out of commission.
International Travel Medical offers a solution that not only protects their health, but helps arrange political evacuation, covers lost luggage, and offers a concierge service that speaks the local language and is familiar with local customs.
All that equals getting back to work faster when something unexpected does occur.
Are you in the International Medical Market?
