Dear Friends,
Well, here we are again. Another 4 years has gone by and another election is approaching.
Both nominees have picked their running mates, and the polls are showing a tight race.
With the election comes the usual questions.
What will the candidates bring to the table? What changes does each one offer? Who should we vote for?
All valid questions.
But the most pressing questions that come to mind are, "How will the next President affect the Health Insurance Business?" and "Will Health Insurance commissions go away?"
The hard honest truth is that regardless of your political affiliation, we are probably in for some major changes.
There is an incredible amount of public pressure to reform our Health Insurance system to make quality care more accessible to everyone.
And believe me, both Republicans and Democrats are yielding to the public's demand. After all, they must answer to their employer, the American People.
What does this mean for our business?
It means what you know and love about the health insurance business will be a thing of the past.
But does this mean you have to find another career?
No!
A perfect example is Medicare.
Medicare is government run. And yet thousands of agents have done extremely well in the over 65 market. Medicare has paved the way for selling Supplements and Burial Policies galore, to name a few!
Why can't this hold true when (not if) Uncle Sam gets into the under 65 market?
These changes will bring us all into new territory.
But new doesn't have to be bad.
I'm positive that those who embrace the inevitable changes that are coming will be the ones who gain a substantial lead over the complainers.
Cordially,
Bob Neumann, CLU, RHU,President
